She is the NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, and also reports for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, Today, and MSNBC. Andrea Mitchell was born on October 30, 1946 in New Rochelle, New York. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967 with a degree in English literature. She began her career in journalism in 1972 as a reporter for KYW-TV in Philadelphia. In 1976, Mitchell joined NBC News as a general assignment correspondent. She was the first female correspondent to cover the White House, and has since reported on every presidential election since 1976. She has also reported on major international events, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Gulf War, and the Iraq War. Andrea Mitchell is 75 years old and has a net worth of $10 million. NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent since November, 1994. Previously, she had served as Chief White House Correspondent (1993-1994) and Chief Congressional Correspondent (1988-1992) for NBC News.
After several years at KYW, she moved to CBS affiliate WTOP in Washington, D.C. in 1976. Two years later, she moved to NBC's network news operation, where she served as a general correspondent. In 1979, she was named the NBC News Energy correspondent.
She is an actress and writer, known for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt (1970), 30 Rock (2006) and Political Animals (2012).
Graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967, where she served as news director of the student radio station WXPN. She joined Philadelphia then-NBC affiliate KYW radio and KYW-TV as a reporter that same year.
