Michael Joseph Connelly is an American author of detective novels and other detective novels, particularly those starring LAPD Detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch and crime advocate Mickey Haller. Connelly is the best-selling author of 31 novels and a non-fiction, with more than 74 million copies of his books sold worldwide and translated into 40 foreign languages. His first novel, The Black Echo, won the Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award for Best debut novel in 1992. In 2002, Clint Eastwood directed and starred in the film adaption of the novel. Connelly's Blood Work Theory 1997. In March 2011, the film adapted from Connelly's novel, Lawyer Lincoln, starring Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller.
