Alexander David Turner is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the conductor and lead musician of the rock band Arctic Monkeys, who has released six albums with him. He has also recorded with the side project The Last Shadow Puppets and as a solo artist. When Turner was 16 years old, he and three friends founded arctic monkeys in their hometown Sheffield. Their debut album, Anything People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, became the best-selling debut album in UK history and ranked at number 30 on the Best First Albums list. Rolling Stone's best of all time, with her single "I bet you look good on the dance floor" became the UK's number one hit. The group's subsequent studio albums, Favorite Worst Nightmare, Humbug, Suck It and See, AM, and Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, have experimented with desert rock, indie pop, R&B and lounge music.

The Arctic Monkeys' lead guitarist Jamie Cook, drummer Matt Helders, and bassist Nick O'Malley are all English-born singers and guitarists. He's also the founder of The Last Shadow Pup, a side project.
