Egypt urges world to ‘act now’ as it sets out COP27 vision
Cairo, Sep 30 (IANS) Egypt has set out a dream for the 27th meeting of the Gathering of the Gatherings (COP27) to the UN System Show on Environmental Change, which expects to make it an “execution COP” by pushing for activities across earlier arrangements through all areas of environmental change needs, as indicated by a public statement by Egypt’s COP27 Administration.
“We should speed up environment activity on all fronts including moderation, transformation and money as well as taking on more aggressive relief measures to keep the 1.5 degrees Celsius reachable,” Egyptian Unfamiliar Priest and COP27 President-Assign Sameh Shoukry was cited as saying in the Wednesday official statement.
Egypt will have COP27 from November 7 to 18 in its Red Ocean resort city of Sharm El-Sheik, Xinhua news organization announced.
There is “no space for postpone in the satisfaction of environment promises or backtracking on well deserved gains in the worldwide battle against environmental change”, Shoukry was cited as saying.
“We should cooperate for execution. We really want to endlessly act now, to save lives and vocations,” Shoukry added.
