Alex Bugnon is a Swiss-born American jazz pianist, composer, and producer. He was born on October 10, 1958 in Montreux, Switzerland. He began playing the piano at the age of five and was classically trained. He attended the Conservatory of Music in Geneva, Switzerland, and later moved to the United States to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Bugnon has released nine albums as a leader, including his debut album, Love Season, which was released in 1989 and earned him a Grammy nomination. His other albums include Soul Purpose (1991), Head Over Heels (1995), and Out of the Blue (1998). He has also released two live albums, Live at the Blue Note (2000) and Live at the Jazz Standard (2005). Bugnon has collaborated with a number of artists, including George Duke, Stanley Clarke, and Marcus Miller. He has also composed music for television and film, including the theme song for the television show The Hughleys. Bugnon is married to singer and songwriter, Maysa Leak. They have two children.
